Issue 012/2005

Three Canadian AERE Officers are presently at UTSI, collocated with Arnold Air Force Base in Tullahoma Tennessee.  An hour from Nashville the tiny town has welcomed the Canadians with open arms, including them in the community and Officers Mess, a new initiative by the Base Comd.

20910 Capt Jeremy Smith and wife Jennifer, 21822 Capt Walter Michalchuk, and Capt Lee Wendell, wife Donna and sons are all adjusting to the unique lifestyle of the Southern States.  Known for its research and developments for the USAF, Arnold AFB and UTSI have produced many of the leading engineers in aeronautics, aerodynamics, as well as a number of astronauts, including 13738 Chris Hadfield who attended both “Roads” & RMC.

Doing their RRMC / RMC Alma Mater proud, Jeremy and Walter were pleased to have made the Chancellors list after the fall semester.  Jeremy also finds time to coach the soccer team, reminding him of the days he played soccer as a Cadet at RRMC.

Jeremy and Jennifer will return to Canada after his graduation this summer, while Walter and Lee remain for their final year.  Likely not making it back to Kingston for his five year reunion Walter wants to say hello to all from the Class of 2000 especially the Chemical Engineers and those from 4 Sqn.  If you are ever in Tullahoma Tennessee you have a place to stay, and someone to show you the best golf courses in the South.
