The Class of 1956

Unfortunately, the success of the Leadership Library Collection has created a small problem for the Class of 1956 (or the College committee responsible for its expansion).  Each recommended addition to the collection must be independently reviewed before it can be accepted into the Collection, and although the Class of ’56 is still providing some twenty of its members as active reviewers, due to a large number of book recommendations, there is a growing list of materials and simply not enough people to review them.  This means that the expansion of the Collection is being constrained because books cannot be added until they have been reviewed.  Therefore, the Leadership Library Committee, dedicated to maintaining an up-to-date collection of quality leadership material, is looking for RMC alumni, present or past sub-unit commanders, and academics to act as book reviewers.

Reviewing books for the Leadership Library Collection is a rewarding experience that will benefit everyone at RMC, as well  leadership, and the Leadership Library Committee wants to ensure that its collection will continue to reflect the growing field.  Without the help of book reviewers, this task will be too overwhelming for a small group of dedicated ex-cadets.

Currently, the Leadership Library Collection comprises a solid anthology of more than 600 titles including books, journals, theses, videos and audiocassettes. While the majority of these titles focus on military leadership, almost one third of the material deals with leadership in non-military settings.  In accordance with RMC’s reputation as a bilingual institution, the Class of 1956 has worked very hard to include a number of French titles, and willingly accepts any recommendations for appropriate French materials.
