Homecoming/Western Reunion 2006 Weekend Activities & Events

Friday April 21:  Meet and Greet reception with a no-host cash bar and light reception (19:00 - 22:00) 

Saturday April 22:  Afternoon of self-organized activities.  Activities include touring Greater Victoria, golf tournaments, lunches, self-guided tours of Royal Roads University grounds and gardens.  Also guided tours for classes of the campus buildings and gardens are offered at 11:00 and 13:00.  Regular Museum and Castle tour will be open free to all Homecoming guests during normal hours of operation.  No sign-up needed, just meet at the Hatley Castle entrance.           

Saturday April 22:  Individual class dinners, or joint class dinners in the Castle.  These are organized by classes and the cost is $35.00 per person.

Dinner Buffet – 18:30 

Sunday April 23: The Sherry Farewell has been a very moving ceremony in the past few years, with a piper accompanying and many Ex-Cadets in attendance. 

10:45: Gather in the Italian gardens for a service of remembrance to honour “Fallen Classmates”.  The VI Club Padre, Reverend Don Hatfield officiates.

11:30: Following the service, assemble at the foot of Neptune’s stairs for a short ceremony to unveil a stone plaque laid for the Homecoming / Reunion.

12:00: Royal Roads University hosts a formal Sherry Farewell with light refreshments on the terrace behind Hatley Castle.  This concludes Homecoming / Western Reunion weekend at RRU. 


Royal Roads University has made the campus and parking available, free of charge, for Royal Roads Homecoming / Western Reunions.  Homecoming / Western Reunion 2006 will be held on the weekend of April 21st, 22nd and 23rd.  Depending on demand for reunion space, the Castle, Quarterdeck of Grant Block, and the “Mews” (formerly the Cadet Mess) may be utilized for the events.
